Uncorking more of Ireland’s best – Day 4

We took a brief trip north of Cork to visit the Blarney Castle. Upon arrival, the wait to kiss that famed stone was already more than two hours, so we took a scenic stroll the beautiful grounds instead.

Then it was off to Cork for a toastie at Farmgate Cafe in the English Market, followed by a brief walk around the city, where we saw the famous Shandon bell tower.

Back in Kinsale, we did some window shopping and headed up the hill across from the harbor for a libation at The Spaniard before an amazing meal at Man Friday.

I’m not gonna lie, we’d heard great things about the restaurant, but that was somewhat tempered by the fact that their name was gaudily displayed on the roof of the establishment. Guess what: the food won out by a mile.

For the next time we visit: the 9/11 memorial outside of Kinsale
